Third Year Anniversary

Three years ago...




Yesterday marked our three year Anniversary. Who would have guessed three years ago that we would be about to embark on the new challenge of parenthood?! We had a wonderful evening together, celebrating by having a date night at the restaurant Recess. It is a set four course menu and it was delicious! Greg especially enjoyed the wine parings along with each entree. Though we said no gifts, Greg surprised me with a new Flip Camera - looking forward to capturing all the moments with Anna. I feel so fortunate to have such an amazing husband who has been so supportive throughout my pregnancy and can't wait to share this next chapter of our lives together.

Today, I went to the MD for my 38 week appointment. I am now fully effaced and 1 whole cm dilated! Again, the MD told me I could be like this for the next couple of weeks:( I have a feeling Anna is very comfortable and is in no rush to come out anytime soon. I have definitely reached that anxious stage- wondering when labor is going to happen. I have my emotional ups and downs due to my raging hormones. Greg nor I are sleeping very well these days - mostly thanks to me for frequently getting up throughout the night, trying to get comfortable. I am trying to keep positive thoughts- I know this will all be worth it once Anna arrives. Looking forward to girls night tonight, hopefully it will help relieve some of my anxiety and stress:)

Baby update

I had my 37 week appointment yesterday with Dr. Pease. I am currently 70% effaced and no dilation to speak of - MD told me I could be this way for a couple more weeks so I don't think labor is imminent. She stated Anna is head down and sitting very low. This surprised me because I have been carrying her so high and her feet are kicking my ribs as I type. Maybe this means she will be long? We will have to see:) Looking forward to a nice, relaxing Labor Day weekend - hoping for some rest.

Girlfriend Baby Shower

What a great, fun-filled weekend! My girlfriends Cassandra, Jackie & Meghan hosted a beautiful shower this past Saturday. As you will see in the photo's below, they truly outdid themselves. Thank you to all my friends and family that traveled to celebrate with us. Greg & I are defintely all set for Anna's arrival with all the baby gear we receieved. Thank you, Thank you!!!

36 Weeks

36 Weeks Baby Bump

Wow, I am almost 37 weeks pregnant and feeling every bit pregnant! At least I can relax with knowing that if Anna decides to make an early arrival it would be okay because she is considered almost full term. My energy levels are dropping and I am becoming more uncomfortable - especially working my 12 hour shifts which are incredibly taxing on my body. It is very frustrating because I am used to having so much energy to go, go, go. Oh well, I am almost there - the countdown is on!

We had a great time last weekend! Friday night Greg & I had a slumber party with my niece Grace. She is such a joy to have around. We spent the evening baking brownies, playing on the playground across the street, building blanket forts and having story time with Uncle Greg. Love you Grace:)

Saturday morning we drove up to Culver, IN to stay with our good friends the Barrett's lake house. Saturday night we were invited to ride around the lake on a catamaran for a friend's birthday celebration. It turned out to be a gorgeous evening and we enjoyed good food and great company.

Work Baby Shower

Wow, I am feeling overwhelmed by all the love and support from my co-workers at PMCH - Today they threw an amazing baby shower! Thanks girls for everything. I feel so lucky to be able to work with such an amazing group of people and it has been fun having so many mommy's and mommy's-to-be to relate with and give great advice at work.
